We live at a time when we’re obsessed with the need to lower our cholesterol levels – but a new study reminds us just how important it is for maintaining health.

Cholesterol is vital for brain development and functioning, and it’s needed to help form brain cells, say Swedish researchers.

People who are on a strict diet to reduce their cholesterol levels often suffer from poor co-ordination, short-term memory loss, dizziness and a lack of balance.
