Your November issue discusses chemical sensitivity. Like many others, I have been damaged by pesticides. Although much improved, my life will never be the same again.
Suddenly there are a whole new set of rules. Ignore them and your body and mind fall apart, sometimes for hours, sometimes for days. As well as coping with strange symptoms, sufferers have to endure being labelled neurotic or just plain crazy. At first, I was very voluble in explaining my strange behaviour, now I am silent.
I sincerely believe that we are only looking at the tip of the iceberg. Many of the people suffering from MCS are misdiagnosed. We cannot know how many are affected. I believe that the threat to the health of future generations will not be from BSE, as some have suggested, but from the terrifying mixture of chemicals which every one of us comes into contact with during the course of our daily lives. I hope I am wrong!- Gillian Hearn, Greece.
