A footnote on skin cancer

As I stood in the shower this morning, I suddenly wondered whether the curious unexplained rise in skin cancer on the soles of the feet might be caused by superclean Westerners paddling day after day in a strong solution of sodium lauryl sulphate. (It’s not something I do myself – thanks to you!)
