BETTER THAN SEX? Well, better than Viagra, anyway

Viagra has been one of the great drug sensations of the past decade. It’s even become a recreational drug in some quarters.

The drug is certainly addressing a big enough problem. It’s been reckoned that 25 million men in the USA suffer from some form of erectile dysfunction, and that’s just the ones that admit to it.

Viagra isn’t exactly a problem-free drug. Over 300 deaths were associated with it within months of its introduction in 1998, and it comes with a host of side-effects.

To make matters worse, it’s effective in only 57 per cent of cases; so nearly half of all men who take it run the risk of a serious side-effect and without any positive outcome.

A new study offers fresh hope. Researchers from California tried the drug with a herbal remedy called ArginMax, which is produced by GNC. A group of men with erectile dysfunction, who were not helped by Viagra, were first given the drug for a month, with similar disappointing results. But when they took ArginMax with the drug, 60 per cent reported a great improvement.

Earlier studies of ArginMax found it was also effective without Viagra.

So what’s in ArginMax? It’s made up of Ginkgo biloba, ginseng, and L-arginine, along with vitamins B6 and B12, plus antioxidants.

The key is nitric oxide, which is central to smooth muscle relaxation, vascular dilation, and the regulation of circulation. In short, all the things that add up to an erection.

Vital to nitric oxide is L-arginine, while Ginkgo biloba can also help achieve microvascular circulation.

Interestingly, these supplements work just as well on women who have lost their sexual appetite.
