More dangers of natural hair dyes

I have been following your article on breast cancer and the risk posed by hair dyes with interest (WDDTY, vol 9 no 7).

I have used ‘Tints of Nature’ by Linea Natura for about three years because I believed it to be safer than the standard hair dyes. However, when I checked the list of ingredients, I found that ‘phenylenediamine ‘ was present. I have now stopped it and am investigating American hair dyes.- Mrs T Merrett Torpoint, Cornwall

WDDTY replies: For interested readers, the semi-permanent Vegetal Colour by Herbatint (good for three or four washes) does not contain phenylenediamines.
