Fish eaters, take note: Ask your fishmonger where your fish is coming from.
A Swedish study in The New England Journal of Medicine of men consuming high amounts of fatty fish like salmon and herring from the Baltic sea, known to contain high levels of dioxins and dibenzofurans, were found to have four times the level of the chemicals in the blood than those who didn’t eat fish.
The report showed a link between the amount of fish eaten and levels of the toxins.
