A recent study has found that foods have different glycemic indexes which determine how high the body’s blood glucose level rises after eating and those with a low index improve glucose levels in diabetics.
Researchers tested the theory on 20 patients with type 2 diabetes. Differences in the glycemic index were achieved (Diabetes Care, 1999; 22: 10-8).
