UPDATES:M.E. GIVEN SHOT IN ARM

Three quarters of a study group of 270 ME patients who’d failed to respond to other treatments had marked improvement or complete recovery after 10 treatments with the liver extract Kutapressin.

The extract was given as an intramuscular shot of 2 ml daily for between 4 and 10 days, followed by three injections per week until the patient recovered. The patients averaged 33 injections, with only one adverse reaction in what turned out to be more than 8,000 injections.

According to the August/September 1991 Townsend Letter for Doctors, which reviewed the study, published in the Chronic Fatigue and Immune Dysfunction Journal, Kutapressin is the brand name of polypeptides developed as a byproduct of the production of vitamin B12 and extracted from the liver of pigs. This extract, developed in the 1940s, has been found to boost the immune system.
