There is a controversy about the safety of fluoride, what is real?

What is real is that the American Medical Association in 1943 and the American Dental Association in 1944 branded the addition of fluoride as poisonous and harmful to health. When it became expedient to add fluoride to the water in the 1960’s (because of the alarming amount of decayed, missing and filled teeth in inner city and rural children) positions changed. Instead of focusing on the causes of this epidemic, we treated the symptoms. We ignored diet, nutrition, hygiene and the lifestyles of these children.
