To bring the numbers down, my forward-thinking doctor put me on the Super GLA/DHA essential fatty acid supplement by Life Extension Foundation. Six softgels a day provide 4000 mg of borage seed oil, 920 mg of GLA, 1000 mg of DHA and 2000 mg of marine lipid concentrate. He also had me supplement with 600 mg of red yeast rice twice a day.

In one year, and doing nothing else – no additional exercise, no change of diet – my cholesterol fell to 192! Frankly, I thought the lab had sent back the wrong test. I totally recommend that people try these supplements before doing anything else.
